My NUT sucks - any new foods I can have at 6 weeks?

I had asked for help a few weeks ago with why I was losing slow and I got a TON of good recs on what I should be eating and what I was eating that was wrong. I've been following that advice to the T because it made a lot of sense to me - protein only and no carbs at this stage. I'm still not losing all that much weigh but I AM losing so I'm choosing to be happy about that.

I went to my NUT for an appt and I'm just so disappointed in the stuff she's telling me. I argued with her and she doesn't agree. She is telling me that saltines, potatoes and bread are all fine for me to eat right now. I disagree. At this point everything I put in my mouth has protein in it and gets me closer to the total amount I need for the day. And so far I'm averaging between 58 and 66 grams of protein a day.

Anyway - I will be at 6 weeks next Monday. I've already done my grocery shopping for this week. I've been on a lot of soft foods and some things like sliced turkey deli meat, and ground chicken - those are the only 2. Everything else has been soft like cottage cheese, riccotta cheese, yogurt, tuna, string cheese, crab, etc.

I did try baked chicken breast entirely too early and it made me way sick.

Are there any new foods that you would suggest I can try at this point? Basically my NUT is telling me to try anything I want to and see what works. Soft pasta is on my plan at 8 weeks. I don't plan on eating that maybe ever, but at least 6 months to a year. So I'd really appreciate the advice or help.

If you haven't already check out Eggface's blog.  She has so many great recipes and ideas.

Oh yea good for you for sticking up for yourself at the NUT appointment.  I do wonder sometimes about the doctors and nutionists and their list of foods that are allowed.

I have, thanks! I have a lot of her recipes pinned on Pinterest but a lot of them seem like they're more for when I'm further out? But I could be wrong...I'm not completely sure lol!

Look for Eggface's crustless quiches.  I ate quite a few of those right after surgery. Very easy to prepare and freeze any extras.

Just looked and I'm definitely trying some this weekend! Nervous about an actual recipe with multiple ingredients but I need to advance from 1 ingredient food at some point.

Deli meats are really good at this point. Get them sliced very thin, they are already moist, and they go down well. I had deli ham and chicken a lot.

I picked up a pre-packaged one but I prefer to get it sliced. The only reason I did it this way is because I was concerned about how to calculate protein lol. Right now all I do is calculate things. Do you just google it?

Myfitnesspal has the nutrition facts for anything from Boar's head. I'm sure there are other brands in there too, but I always get Boar's head. It goes by ounce, so just weigh what you are going to eat and put it into myfitnesspal to get the amount of protein. Their new beachwood smoked ham is really good. I have been eating it warmed up with swiss cheese and Boar's head mustard. Yum! You don't need bread to make a sandwich.

As the poster above wrote, MyFitnessPal has pretty much everything in it. I use it for tracking all my food.

Your NUT is a nut.  I wouldn't start introducing all those carbs until you are pretty much at goal.  Carbs really are the devil.  It depends on what your trigger foods are, so beware.  A few foods that might work at this point that are good protein are egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad (all finely chopped/ground), Wendy's chili is also a good option.
