Nasoya Pasta Zero

My program allows for tofu in the phase that I am in (going on 5 weeks out).  I really would like to try Nasoya Pasta Zero with Chicken thighs and tomato sauce with mozzarella. Anyone try it this early out?

Here are the ingredients: water, konjac flour, chickpea flour, potato starch, calcium hydroxide, reduced iron, folic acid.

Konjac flour, Chickpea flour, and potato starch are still carbs.  This early out you need to focus on protein.  You have only so much space in your new stomach and protein is more important than anything.  Stick with the chicken thighs, tomato sauce, and mozzarella.

The common mistake we make is trying to replace our favorite foods with something similar.  I think that is a slippery slope, especially if pasta was a trigger food for you.  Pretty soon, we start making excuses to eat the "real thing".  It would be better to use this honeymoon period to completely change the way you look at food.

Thanks for the feedback... A full serving (which i would never be able to get in) has 15 calories, 4 carbs and 3 grams of fiber and 0 sugars....so that makes it a No? I can understand the trigger thing thought.

I wouldn't waste the stomach space for something that has very little nutritional value.

There's basically nothing in them that's going to cause you a problem; however, there's also basically nothing in them that's going to nourish you either.  If you want to have a few "noodles" with a dish that is primarily chicken, sauce, and cheese then they're probably fine, but make them a side.

Ditto what Rocky said.  There will be plenty of years left for "fake" pasta once you are in maintenance, but right now you need to focus on protein and, most importantly, on CHANGING your eating habits (not just finding fake, marginally healthier substitutes for unhealthy foods).

Pass on anything right now that is not protein or a veggie.

I get it, too but need the constant reinforcement and reminders.  Protein first, vegetable second.  Protein first, vegetable second.  Protein first, vegetable second.  A million times : /

If you like zucchini you can buy a spiral slicer that sort of turns it into a noodle shape. Toss it in a frying pan with a little bit of oil, salt, pepper, and garlic if you like it. It only takes a few minutes. I measure out 1/3 of a cup of sauce and "noodles" to have with my chicken :)

I second the spiralizer. Ladytazz has created 3 new followers
