Are there foods we should stay away from?

I know that when I had my Band that I could not eat rice or bread.  Are they any foods other than sweets that you know will cause problems?

Everyone is different in their food tolerances, but I'd definitely say "No White Foods", which means no simple carbs.  

No bread, pasta, rice, potatoes.

And definitely drink a lot of water.

I agree! Stay away from the white starches. They will only cause you issues down the road!!!! No White starches!!

You just had surgery. Didn't they send you home with directions? Or were you talking about foods to avoid down the road? If you didn't see one pre op , please make an appt to see a nutritionist . Oh and welcome to the losers bench

No, I'm talking down the road.  Rice and bread on the Band would clog me up big time and I don't want that to happen again!!

It depends on how you define problems. I try to stay away from foods that got me to obesity.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.

I do not eat foods that I am allergic to.  Bread, rice, potatoes, sugar, flour, pasta, noodle, pastries, candy make me break out in fat.

I agree with Grim....I stay away from all foods that got me to 282 pounds.  No carbs, sweets and artificial sweeteners.  I try to keep my diet simple and healthy.
