Pani and corset trunkplasty
Hello everyone, had the above done yesterday. I know. im pushing it. But how long were you guys in pain?
They removed 12 lbs of excess skin. The only real pain is from my Pani area. I'm able to walk around a bit. But lots of pain, I'm on oxycodone taking 2 pills every 4-5 hours, they seem like they don't really work that much.
If you had muscle tightening along with the skin removal on your abdomen, you can expect pain for a couple of weeks.
The panniculectomy usually has a minimal amount of pain because, although it is a huge incision line, there is no muscle cutting involved in that area. The only real pain I personally had from that part was right at the endings of the incisions because those areas pulled when I would bend or twist.
The muscles in your upper abdomen, though, are going to take several weeks to heal, so two or three weeks of pain is common. I still had significant pain at times when I was 4 weeks out, but that doesn't seem to be most people's experience.
You might get better pain relief if you switch from the pain pills to a liquid version (Lortab is the one usually given instead of Vicodin).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
You might also post on the plastic surgery forum. There are more people there with similar experiences and may be of some help.
I had a fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty and brachioplasty. I was in horrific pain for a week and then managed with oral pain meds the next few weeks. I also had muscle work and that is quite painful. I developed an open wound that took weeks to heal and hope you won't have that complication.
I don't regret the temporary discomfort - it was worth it.
