1 year Surgery Anniversary!!
Yesterday was 1 year from my surgery. I am down 140 pounds and 50 more to go to hit my first OMG goal. After that I will see how I feel, and look and decide from there how much more I want to lose. I have been a big gal my whole life and I'm 6 foot tall even though I have lot 140 pounds I still wear a size 12 shoe jut not wide width anymore :). I think 220 to 230 is very realistic maintain weight for me. We will see.
I was starting to stress myself since I was not at my goal 1 year out. I keep telling myself I did not become 400 lbs overnight or in 1 year and it's ok if it takes me a year and half or 2 years to get to my maintaining weight. I just need to do this for me and not try to please others or worry that in others eyes I am not as successful with the surgery as others. I am still losing about 5 to 6 pounds a month and hopefully with my new knee brace that will pick up a bit with being able to be more active without my knee blowing out.
Good luck to all with their journey! Remember it is not a race it is a lifetime journey and it's our journey not your surgeons or anyone else's!!

You are doing great, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you are sticking to your plan, it will take you as long as it takes you to get to your goal weight. You're right. This is not a race, it's your life. You've chosen to live it in a healthy body. Good for you!

Oh my heavens, that is awesome! 140 pounds in a year is great progress. Did you imagine looking and feeling as great as you do now, back before surgery? Probably not! So hang in there and keep on fighting all the way to your goal. Whoo hoo!
