What is the "Biotein" I've seen mentioned in several different threads?

What is biotein? I've seen it in multiple threads.

It's a chewable vitamin that helps to strengthen nails and hair.  Today I read an older post on these chatboards that said too much Biotene can cause facial hair to grow in women.  

There are two things that look and sound close.

Biotin is the vitamin described above.  

Biotene is a brand for a dry mouth spray, which will come in handy on surgery day (you won't drink anything for at least 24 hours after surgery!) I bought the CVS store brand which was a lot cheaper!

This drove me crazy when I first came to the boards!! Very similar but two different things. 

Not all patients go 24 hours without drinking. Some surgeons test for leaks before you leave the operating room and you are then able to drink as soon as you wake up. Just another difference between doctors!

You can drink but only sips at a time. If you are thirsty it feels like you will never get enough
