What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! So, how beautiful was the weather yesterday? I did some work in the yard when I got home (I hate yard work so this was a big deal. LOL) and then relaxed on the deck in the sun with a beer. It was glorious. It's supposed to be pretty nice for the rest of the week, too! Oh, happy day! And the peeper frogs are out too. My house sits next to a kind of wetland basin and there must be a million of them down there, no joke. They are so loud that the first spring we lived here I thought someone's car alarm was going off. LOL
Anyone have a garden? We've had one for the last few years; tomatoes, mini peppers, peas, cucumbers and corn. I love having it, but like I said above, I hate yard work. I think we're taking the year off from gardening, because of the backhoe. LOL That and we want to move the location, because right now it sits where my husband wants to put his 'honey house'. Maybe I'll plant some stuff in pots on the deck. Has anyone done that?

Hey all! The weather is absolutely beautiful here in Wisconsin. Last night I ran in a tank top and wasn't cold in the slightest. I hate winter so I am so ready for spring and summer. AV, we don't have a garden but my husband has wanted a container garden for the past few years. We have decided that we will actually do it this year. I want to plant some herbs and he wants some tomatoes and peppers so I think that will be all.

Container garden! That's what I was trying to think of! If we do that, I think I'll do grape tomatoes and peas. I wonder if you can grow edamame in a container...
Ahhh the weather was gorgeous in DC too yesterday! I went for a six mile walk and then met my boyfriend for sushi and we ate outside. It was glorious to sit outside. I hoped it meant spring was officially here but today is high 50s and rainy. Sigh.
My menu is ok today but I have had to factor in half of a piece of key lime pie lol. Which makes me very careful about my other meals and snacks!
B: Coffee with half and half, light and fit greek yogurt with a little high protein granola
L: Pesto chicken patty with cheese
S: 2% milk cottage cheese
D: Alaskan King Crab, key lime pie
Totals are 1,300 calories, 85 protein, 115 carbs (eek)
I am not yet cleared for the gym so if it's not raining too hard I will walk 2 miles to dinner. I hate not being active!!!
Have a great day too, Kristen and all! Hilarious that you have a backhoe and wetland basin...I live on a busy city street where I hear sirens, garbage trucks, buses, and honking :)
We have about 9 acres of woods, too. LOL What's funny is that I don't really like being outside. Well, I do, but I don't like to do outdoor stuff, like yard work or whatever. Last night my husband and I moved all this wood he'd stacked up and let rot over to the burn barrel. I complained the whole time.
I may have mentioned this before, but I have a glass that says "I'm outdoorsy in that I like getting drunk on patios". That pretty much covers it. LOL
Beautiful weather in Illinois yesterday too but cloudy here today. We do have a garden every summer. Hubby made raised beds for me and we raise green beans, peas, green onions, snap peas, tomatoes, peppers and usually one or two squash plants. We buy plants from a local nursery as opposed to starting from seeds. I pulled last years weeds out yesterday and need to get onions in in the next few days. Post op 31.5 months and weight at 120.2 today. Exercise will be 3 miles with Lily at the park,2 miles on the treadmill and 20 minutes with Jillian and 30 day shred. I am sure I will be sore when I am done! Here's the food plan: 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and half a banana with peanut butter L 31/2 oz meatballs and strawberry cheesecake 80 cal yogurt D 31/2 oz seasoned pork loin and 1/2 c broccoli S hgreek yogurt with granola. Have a great day full of smart choices everyone!
