Does anyone really regret their procedure Bi-pass?
OMG I wish I dumped! I can tolerate sugar alcohols, sugar, anything really. Dumping would help me avoid peanut butter cups (and trust me, that would be a GOOD thing). Don't be scared of a life without sugar...be scared of dying young of morbid obesity, or living immobile with knee and joint pain everyday. I would have this surgery today and twice tomorrow if I could...best decisions I have ever made in my life. From 351 day of surgery to 150 today - I am now living life to the fullest and I hope you make the right choice for you and find great success!
Mmmm. Peanut butter cups in the freezer.

I learn of so much food *****n this site that I did not even think of before. Pnut butter cups in the freezer, Captain Crunch in ice cream . . .
Most people do not experience dumping after RNY, or at least they need to eat a lot of sugar in order to dump. But, more importantly, do you love sugar or yourself more? Sugar is one of the worst substances people consume. It causes obesity and all sorts of other medical problems. Naturally occurring sugar in things like fruit and milk are one thing (and it's rare for anyone to dump from these), but I firmly believe that added sugars played a major role in the obesity epidemic. A life without sugar is one that will likely be longer and healthier.

I don't regret having my RNY at all.
My only regret is not enough knowledge at the time I had surgery in 2001 about regain. Back then, regain wasn't talked about. Now, thanks to OH community members talking about regain, it is out there more for pre-ops and new post-ops.
I'd do it all over again for sure just more informed and respectful of my weight loss and the potential reality of regain.
