Update!
Hello OH readers!
Another weekend passed, and I ran another race! The City Parks Foundation Run For The Parks 4 Mile Race in Central Park. I did 4 miles in 43 minutes, 26 seconds, a personal best for a 4 mile race, with a 10:55/mile pace. an overall personal best! So far my best times look like this:
5K: Fastest Pace/mile: 11:05, Best Net Time: 34:26 (Overall Personal Best - both at the Washington Hts. 5K)
4M: Fastest Pace/mile: 10:55 (Overall Personal Best), Best Net Time: 43:40 (Both at the Run For The Parks 4M)
10K: Fastest Pace/mile: 12:10, Best Net Time: 1:15:35 (Both at the Scotland 10K)
I have a WLS Support Group meeting tomorrow, a Primary Care Physician appointment on Friday (nothing serious, routine 3-month checkup) I'll be taking this weekend off from running I'll be doing some computer consulting on Long Island, though. Next week is the Run As One 4-Mile Event in Central Park (On the same course as the Run for The Parks 4M). I'll update you on my results in a couple of weeks. Take care, all.
Thank You,
Don

Great job, Don. Might I suggest that giving support is just as important in one's journey as taking it - I see sporadic posts when you come in to update everyone on your progress but someone as active and successful as yourself would make a great role model.
Sometimes it's just nice to pop on and congratulate other people, offer advice etc as well as telling everyone how well you are doing.

I second what Kim said. Reading your posts about running gave me courage to take it up again.
I think you demonstrate how important exercise and maintaining a support group is.
I am lax in going to physical support groups. I got burned out on WW and most of the patients I see in the current support group are pre-op. What I need is veterans. Someone to kick me in the ass and tell me when I am starting to get a bit wacko, or tell me the truth about the potential weight gain in years 2-3 and how to get through it (e.g. count calories).
