happy place

I like the term movement better than exercise. I like moving in ways that give me pleasure.  One of my favorite places to walk in the off leash dog park with my devil dog Lucy.

I am starting to have enough energy to go and to walk the loop. Today was a half loop day. I saw old friends who welcomed me back so warmly.

Feeling better and spring is in Seattle. Good things.

That's one of my favorite activities too!    Near Portland, there's a 1000-acre off-leash area that my Aussie mix Asher absolutely loves. Plus we get to see tons of other dogs. Congrats on finding ways to move enjoyably!

That's because Portland is so cool.

I lived next door (in the country) to a woman who raised Aussies. Beautiful dogs but boy do they loveTO run. That's not movement..that is a marathon!

I like the term movement, or activity, better than exercise also. There are studies that show increased overall activity is much better than exercising your ass off for an hour and doing little the rest of the day.

I see most people falling off the exercise wagon after a year, or two at the most. Increasing daily movement is something easier to live with for life.

That's awesome, Deb!! So happy for you!! And i'm sure Lucy loved the walk, too.

For some reason, my non-athletic daughter wants to join the cross-country team. She and a friend in the neighborhood run after school each day. I am super proud of her but running is NOT for me. I also choose to be active, but not "exercise" these days.

I think that's great she found something she likes. No matter how much I weigh I can not run. It's too bad really because I  do know it shreds those calories and seems they get some weird crazy high from it.

I have missed easy movement and I'm determined to get that back.

I'm happy for your daughter. I'm so glad the boy is a swimmer.  It's a lifetime of easy movement and it's fun watching him get better.
