RNY Pouch Size

Hi everyone. I'm 10years exactly this month out from my RNY. I recently had an upper endoscopy that showed my pouch is 7 centimeters. I was wondering what is the ideal size and what seems to be the size pouch most have. I don't remember what size it was 10yrs ago.

I have no idea what size mine is. People talk about sleeve size all the time, and what size bougie their surgeon used. But I honestly have never seen anyone discuss the measurement of their pouch.

Usually, if a pouch measurement is given (e.g., in the original operative report) it is given in cubic centimeters not in a linear measurement.

Your pouch is expected to enlarge some over the first year to 18 months, so even if you were only a year out, your pouch would be larger than it was at the time of surgery.

its suspected I have a fistula. My upper gi showed the duodenum stretched, the CT scan showed fluid in the excluded stomach, however the endoscopy showed the staples are in tact. The gastrointerologists report states cannot rule out fistula and my bypass surgeon says there is nothing to do at this time. So i was asking about the pouch size to see if  maybe the fistula was someplace other than the staple line. I'm always hungry and I kept all the weight off until I had a baby 3yrs ago with csection
