Is this normal

Hi,

I had my "life saving" surgery on Monday, March 26. I a little over a week into my new life style and so far so good. The only thing I am wondering about is that the scale really hasn't moved much so far. Is this normal in the very beginning?

Thanks,

Terry

Very much normal.  Please do yourself a big favor and STAY OFF THE SCALE.  Don't weigh yourself until you go to yoursurgeon's office.  This will really help. Also, search this site for "stall" and you'll find LOTS of posts on the topic.

Quite normal.  In fact, it most likely went up while you were in the hospital due to fluids and swelling and it's actually on the way back down.

I agree 100% with Mickey.  For the first six months, I only got weighed at my doctors appointments.  Saved myself a lot of misery.  Our weight fluctuates -- there will be days when your scale will show a gain.  Better to weigh once a month, or at medical appointments (I had a lot of other medical issues, so I was at a doctor's office at least once a month).

Yes, it is normal. I am of the camp of weighing myself everyday in AM. Just can't get crazy about it. I record it once a week so I can see the trend. I went into a stall one week after surgery that lasted 3 1/2 weeks. Just keep doing what you are supposed to do.
