I HAD a RNY on 3/23/15, I have felt no real pain. I guess my question is did my surgery take? I have not experienced any symptoms i have read about. Such as a change in taste and smell, not being able to get protein in and things of that nature. I am however struggling with getting in all the requird liquid amount. I just hope things are ok, or am I just worring?

I had surgery 3/11/15 and haven't had any negative side effects either (thankfully).  Everyone is different.  Some people have all sorts of challenges and others don't.  I have seen some people mention that they had a lot of pain.  However, I was up doing 10 laps around the 5th floor of the hospital just a few hours after surgery and quit my pain meds as soon as I was discharged.  I felt good enough by day 3 or 4, that I really could have gone back to work, but I did give myself 10 days off instead.

I wouldn't worry too much if your journey doesn't match that of others.  Best wishes!

I remember feeling this way and even talking in support group about it. A few people jokingly told me try and go eat a burger and fries and you'll KNOW! Glad to hear that you aren't having any issues though. About a week out I could smell EVERYTHING-very similar to when I was prego.

lol Emiepir.....

I know exactly what you talking about. I walked into the kitchen after my daughter and knew exactly what she had just eaten. It sort of does remind me of that time in my life. Thanks for the encouragement.

I know exactly what to call what you are going through.  LUCKY  Not everyone is the same and it sounds like you are doing GREAT  Try filling up a water bottle and carry it with you everywhere.  Velcro it to your hand and sip, sip, sip...  We look forward to your updates.

I felt the same way. A lot of people do. Everything goes so smoothly that you wonder if you are in a placebo group or something.

Then one day a couple of months after surgery I didn't chew something quite well enough. And I new for sure I had been altered. No doubt at all.

Be thankful everything has gone so well. Sooner or later you'll run into a small bump in the road, and you'll appreciate how well you've done.

I had mine on the 17th and I am doing fine also, but I'm also still on the full liquid so I haven't tried anything pureed.  I had no pain after a few days and have been walking fine.  I went back to work this past Monday and all is well in my lil world except that I do feel like I'm a little deprived when I can smell everyone's delicious food.  But I'm OK and have lost a significant amount of weight already as you will too.  Hang in there you're doing great!
