A little over a month ago I was hospitalized for severe left sided pain for 2 days. Fluids was all could do at time for me and meds to keep pain down and nausea down. My pcp ordered a gastric emptying study and results were not what thinking as I have symptoms of gastroparesis. Even the tech that did test was uncertain and went to talk to radiologist, It showed Rapid dumping, My pcp also had me see a GI doctor whom thinks I also have gastroparesis affecting my small bowel and also roux stasis syndrome which 30% of those that have Roux en Y gastric bypass can develope and I had surgery in 2004, In 2010 got diagnosis of eds and 2011 diagnosis of POTS. GI doc is thinking because of eds my small intestine being more hypermobile is twisting or kinking causing issues and my intermittant intusseption i have is causing more issues than thought and with pots playing part in gastroparesis aspect. After upper GI and get results GI doc wants to camera endoscopy and wants to make sure I am hospitalized for the day and night drinking stuff to clear self out so I do not get dehydrated and electrolytes not drop too low and I do not pass out. He is even thinking poss reg endoscopy and reg colonoscopy as well and the same would hospitalize for 2-3 days for day of drink stuff and fluids going and for when do test as it would be with propofol and i tend to wake up fine but crash burn 8-12 hours sleep solid a few hours after wake up. I also have to see a bariatric surgeon that just came to area about a year ago as well to get his perspective and if surgery may be needed to either redo gi system to stop issues and maybe also add pacemaker on small intestines for peristalsis to be normalized, He also wants me to see GI specicialist at UCLA by name of Dr Lewis. Has anyone heard of him as well?

I have an upper GI with small bowel follow through scheduled for this wednesday with lovely barium. I can not eat or drink after midnight and test begins at 830 am. I am wondering because the imaging place is close to hospital or can schedule with pcp to get extra fluids either thurs or friday in office if this may be good idea because I am so nauseated after barium for at least 3 days and I know I already have issues with getting in enough fluids daily.

Also has anyone else whom I may speak with have rapid dumping and gastroparesis poss from eds and pots? EDS is Ehlers Danlos Syndrome POTS Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome both diagnosed in 2010 and 2011

I also had long standing multiple vitamin deficiencies including having clinical scurvy where my vit C levels were 0,0 and I did look like it. Most of my vitamin levels are now normal except my Vit D which pcp is trying to find source for injectable Vitamin D3.  My pcp I see does weekly high dose vitamin C and all the bs and other nutrients like methy B12 and Methyl Folate as I have also have another genetic condition called MTHFR which can affect B levels. I am Anemic but the new GI doc is sending to hemetology to see best treatment plus couple things in labs were off.

With all it is going with you, google SIBO and ask your medical team to test that.
