Is it My Gall Bladder...Please HELP...Sorry Lenghty
If your gall bladder is having issues, the HIDA scan will probably find them.
When I had mine, repeated ultrasound and EGD had found nothing, but the HIDA showed my gall bladder functioning at a 4 percent ejection fraction. Meaning it's a worthless sludge-filled lump of tissue that needs to come out. I am a big fan of the HIDA scan now lol.
Good luck,
Audrey

I am so sorry you are in so much pain! Gentle hug > I had my gallbladder out and they just checked mine with an Ultrasound (And they found out it had sludge and was actually dying/necrotic) so it came out immediately, however my symptoms were very different than yours or others with Gallbladder problems. I just had lots of nausea and um, constipation/varying to diarrhea (Sorry for the TMi). I hope they find the cause, did they do a specific gallbladder ultrasound yet? The HIDA test is the gold standard and will definitely them if something is wrong. I've had NO problems what so ever with my gall bladder removed.
Your post truly makes me sympathize with you, I know 'some' people have expressed that they have the most horrific pain of their lives with gallbladder problems, but I'm not a doctor, I only hope and send healing thoughts your way that WHATEVER it is that is hurting you so bad they fix it!
Warmly,
Jackie
Thank you so much for the kind words... my surgeon's nurse left me a voicemail that the HIDA scan turned up negative gall bladder functioning well yayyyy ...But she goes on to say my surgeon wants to refer me back to Dr Zamir (GI Doc) that just did an EDG (doc said my pouch it perfectly fine, normal size and he sees no signs of ulcer like my surgeon assumed and said I should be ably to eat+ not b/s following his orders the next day had me in pain after eating few spoons of egg salad & 2 saltine crackers) and he had me get an ultrasound of my abdomen, liver and GB (supposedly it came back fine, no gall stones) so why would I need to see the GI doc again for a "scoping of my stomach"...Am I missing something, wasn't that what the EGD & Ultrasound was for or is there another type of scope I don't know of ?? Please advise b/c I honestly see no reason in going back to GI doc!! I'm just sick & tired of going back forth to these docs office paying a $35 specialist copay and who knows what their going to bill me for in regards to deductibles and they aren't finding anything...this sucks .
However, I'm glad HIDA scan was negative b/c I didn't want to have to do surgery to remove my gall bladder. So I seen my new PCP yesterday and he told me more than likely the HIDA would be negative in the 1st place based on the ultrasound results and he was right!! He believes I'm having stomach spasms I forgot all his verbiage b/c not eating has me becoming forgetful but think he said something about taking medications long-term & not eating properly can irritate the stomach and I was fasting last month with my church... I think he's right... he sounds way more knowledgeable then my Surgeon sad to say but he does. He prescribed me a meds called Levbid ER but CVS gave me the generic called Hyoscyamine ER and Doc said told to try lite meals an hour after taking this meds and stay away from fried foods (good thing I don't fry a lot at all). Only problem after I read the paperwork I realized it was extended release and as a Gastric Bypass patient we can't take ER, so the pharmacy has paged him to change it to one that's not EB. So i'll keep u all posted once I try and eat something. Wish me well. Thanks for the feedback you guys & gals are the best!!
I'm super tired been only getting a few hors of sleep at night b/c of was concerned and browsing the net & OH for answers lol...so sorry for typos.
