Yes, the swelling can linger for quite some time. (I only had minor swelling in my abdomen after mine (but had other issues there), but I had a lot of swelling in my upper thighs!
As for the other part of your question, how much misshapen are you? In what way? Sometimes the swelling can be worse on one side, or you might have a seroma in a spot that would make it look more swollen than the rest of your tummy, but generally you should just look swollen/puffy.
