Yes, I knew that you didn't intend to be hurtful.  It's all good.

Beautiful response, thank you. Thoughtful, insightful, and recognizable.

How lucky for you that "you don't understand."

Well, I was never 600 pounds, but I certainly do understand how it can get to that point.

Remember lightweight, someone who has never been more than 10 or 15 pounds overweight looked at you and wondered, "How could she let herself get 80+ pounds overweight?" --

For someone who should view this as "there but for the grace of god, go I..."  -- you sure come off as awfully judgmental.

I get that you don't mean to -- but, consider this:

If I burned down a house thinking that it was empty and killed someone who was inside -- does it really matter when I say, "But I didn't mean to hurt anyone!!  I thought the house was empty!!"  --

Not really.  The end result is the same.

I think the op was extremely judgemental and condescending. It felt reading the post like they were speaking down to the SMO, while sitting there eating their carby bean burger.

Addiction is addiction. Would they walk into an AA meeting while drinking a Chardonnay and tell the people it amazes her how "you drunks have no self control".

Did you mean the OP?  Because I was referring to JB...

To clarify, I personally did not care for the origional post. I thought it was condescending and judgmental.

I wonder why you can't see the post?  No, I wasn't referring to the original poster and neither was Lora.  However, JB did respond nicely to Lora's very personal and thoughtful response.  I am not certain why you are unable to see these posts?
