Labs back, question
It seems that most surgeons want your protein level to be at least 7, so yours is definitely low. How many times a day do you eat? How much protein per day? Sometimes eating more frequently (but not eating more calories overall) can help to get in more protein -- if your "snacks" consist only of protein -- when your physical capability is too limited to get in enough.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I assume you didn't get a ferritin test because you doctor didn't order one. I don't know why he didn't order one. If your ferritin was low last time, I would request one. I always review the lab order to see if my doc has ordered everything I'd like to have done.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
