4 months post op

it has been a roller coaster ride in my four months post op!!!  The good is I just now hit the 50 pound mark which coincided with breaking into onederland. Big milestones for sure!  The bad news it's only 50 pounds. So many people are losing weight much quicker than me. More good news is my energy is amazing and I love being able to cross my legs all the time. I didn't realize I missed it. Ha ha. More bad news is the four times I've vomited, the horrible case of the foamies I had, and the occasional constipation. I still encourage anyone I can that expresses even the remotest of interest in WLS. Its a journey for sure and one I wouldn't change for anything!

Hi brandito,

You are doing fine, congratulations on your 50 pounds gone!  Take it one day at a time, keep doing all the rules and basics and the weight will come off.  Sorry to hear you have been so sick, try to note what food made you sick, eat slow, chew well and very small bites....

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hey Brandito. We are surgery buddies. I had mine on 11/20/14!!  Congratulations on your 50 lbs of weight loss. I can't believe that just 4 short months ago I was PRE surgery. Feels like a lifetime ago already! The only thing that I was thinking, was that you may have less to lose than some. I sometimes feel the same way when someone lost like 95 lbs in 3 months...but then sometimes you see that they actually started at like 400lbs!  That really makes a difference. Plus, I have asked my doctor's office and they said that its ok to lose a little slower, as long as you are making progress.  Anyway, Good luck Surgery Buddy!!!!!!

I'm also at 4 months,5 ft 4,  and am losing at a slow and steady pace - approx 2 lbs a week.  I realize that I came into this as a lightweight, just barely passing the BMI point, and that my loss would likely be slower than those who started much heavier.  Congrats on how well you are doing on the journey so far!  I wish I had the energy you have - I'm still pretty tired a lot - but then I haven't added a ton of exercise yet, so I imagine that would increase my energy levels.  I'm almost at the point of crossing my legs comfortably - can't wait!

You make me feel better.  I am 5 months post-op, and have lost 42 pounds.  I have been on a plateau for a month!  Feel sick most of the time.  I am going to start ramping up my walking today!  We all do it differently.  I lost 40 before the surgery. Breaking 200 the day after my 56th birthday was WONDERFUL, but I haven't moved much since then!

Maybe it's all this sunny southern Cali weather holding us back. Ha ha. I've had a few stalls too. Don't give up!!!  We got this!

You make me feel better too. I had surgery 12-31-14 RNY and have lost 29 lbs.  I started at 247. My doctor was pleased with my progress though so I guess slow and steady will get me there. Congratulations on your weight loss.

It is strangely comforting knowing there are others in the same situation. We just keep marching on I suppose!!  Best wishes to you too.
