What do you do if you blow it by breakfast.
last night my 3 year old was up all night. When I got up after 3 hours of sleep to go to work and take my big kid to school, I had 2 monster cookies and a piece of toast with PB that my daughter didn't eat. Sigh, hello carbs and sugar.... This was7 am...after skipping my workout too...
so what do you do? Start over. Eat protein next. Skip normal breakfast and am snack? Usually protein coffee and hard boiled egg or cheese stick
limit intake all day.
forgive and just move on?
i did throw the cookies in the trash...
sigh, that is such a tired old habit... To stuff my face with sweets
no, I don't get sick
yes I'm now hungry ..11 am
I eat 6 times a day. Each meal is an opportunity to eat in a way that nourishes my body, mind and spirit. I, personally, would not skip or limit. Those are "diet" games we all used to play. I would do my best to eat my planned next meal. Now, that said, you need to know that sugar and some carbs actually cause your brain to crave more, so you will be fighting that head battle as you attempt to do the next right thing. I am very thankful I have the program of Overeaters Anonymous to help me on this crazy journey.

WLS 5/31/07. Maintaining a weight loss of 141 pounds and feeling amazing!
Any day I screwed up, I started right over again with the next meal.
It's not the mistakes we make, it's how we recover from them, that determines how we will do.

Ditto Audrey,
We are all going to screw up, I think the key is to get right back on track with your next meal and not let one bad moment derail you for a whole day/week/month. I did that pre-op. Now, I just accept I made less than stellar choice at one meal, but I will get back on track with the next. For me, cutting out all carbs and eating just protein after I eat off track seems to really help. You've got this, good luck!

I like that change in words: not "one day at a time," but "one choice at a time." Thanks for that..
Try not to beat yourself up over it. You are still human with or without surgery and we all make food mistakes time to time. I know there are people online that say how they eat 100% correct 100% of the time. Idk that I buy that. But if it's true that's not the norm I'm sure. But anyway you're doing great and I agree with everyone else, just move onto the next snack/meal and make it count. 😉
