Please, HELP! Joint pain is killing me!!
I use Biofreeze to ease my aches and pains. Menthol is the main ingredient. It does not contain NSAIDS. My dad was deathly allergic to aspirin and used it with no ill effects.

I am pre-op and I am going without NSAIDS now so I am ready for post surgery reality. It sucks! Tylenol does absolutely nothing for me. I am also a Biofeeeze user, and it does help. I use it immediately post workout, and agree that icing is a big help as well. I do the ice at night (I workout in the morning). It helps a lot.
When I started this journey in January, my orthopedist gave me a cortizone injection which worked beautifully, for a while. Im a candidate for knee replacement but my orthopedist suggested I wait until 1-2 years after my weight stabilizes before going forward. He will give me another cortizone injection soon (3-4 months later) so I can continue to increase my workout intensity. Is cortizone an option for you? Granted it's not a solution but it may give you some relief.
Good luck,
christine

I ended up with bursitis in both hips about 6 weeks out. I was miserable and could hardly walk. I tried everything I could to bring the inflammation down and nothing worked. I called my surgeon's office and begged them to help with something anything. They put me on celebrex for 2 weeks only along with omneprazole to protect my pouch lining. I'm happy to say all is well now. No more pain in my hips.
