Is it normal to feel like I am never going to eat a good meal again?

No, you're entirely normal pre-op.  Post-op is another matter all together.

I found that my tastebuds changed totally.  I had been an M&M's Peanuts addict, as well as inhaling Mac'n'cheese by the gallon.  Post-op, I was not even interested.  Odd, but true.

Not that I didn't want the taste, but the taste just wasn't the same.  I did try to recapture the flavors, but it was totally unappetizing when tasted.

Hang in there, Kid, it's a whole new world and you're just getting your passport photo!
