We aren't.  While I was never one to "hang back" when obese, it was harder to do stuff like skating adn rollercoaters and hiking mountains. Now all of that comes easy!  I love it!

Skinny,

you are one of my inspirations. Great job! This is so very, very cool!

And once my knee pain is better (almost there) I am going to take your advice and try Zumba.  This hesitancy of mine is silly.  I will go and shake my groove thing and love it.  Or not love it.  But I will go.  I mean, I perform (lead singer in a classic rock band) in front of strangers so why can't I go to a fitness class full of strangers? Right? And one day, after I work really really hard, someone will refer to me as small.  It's a concept I cannot fathom but I will make it happen.

Anyway this isn't about me, it's about you.  Go get em! Yay!

Getting out of ones comfort zone is hard.

The foot work class was meryl davis and charlie whites OLYMPIC GOLD long dance program.  The girls (all on synchronized skating) knew the basic moves and had no problems.

Me?  I didnt know any of the moves.  I had to go off to the side and work on learning brackets and counters (two different one foot turns).

I fell a lot.  My left hip and hand are bruised. But I learned how to do right foot-forward bracket and and a right foot forward counter. My left foot bracket is so-so.

But today, I chose to say, "I learned how to do a bracket and a counter!"

Today, I am going to public skate to work on these moves on the left side.

Even if they arent pretty, even if they aren't good, my HRM says in the THREE HOURS that I was on the ice I burned 1081 calories.  This is still a great calorie burn.

The class was hard!  It was charlie white & meryl Davis's olympic gold long program.

I fell A lot. My left hand and hip are bruised.  I didnt know 3/4ths of the moves. But this is what class is all about!  Either way, I learned how to do a rocker and bracket.  These were TWO moves that I couldnt do before!  I also burned 1081 calories in 3 hours.  300 calories and hour aint bad!

I had someone say. Well that's because you are such a tiny thing !! I  was ?? Me??? 285 pound mind in a tiny body, wow moments I love, I tried line dancing, I loved it but my old knee didn't. I am 65. I can ride a bike for hours though. Love my RNY also

What if you are to brace the knee?  Would it love it then?  Jane (i.e the 72 year old ice dancer), braces her knee ONLY when skating. She leaves it off in other daily activities to keep the knee strong!

Cool on the bike riding!  I get saddle sore so you amaze me.  Have you tried a class set to music where one pretends to be going up hill and down hill and racing to get around a car etc etc?
