6 months out Severe pain in rib cage shooting thru arm, insight appreciated!
Hi RNY'ers. I don't post often and you were such a support as I was going thru my procedure. Thank you.
I am 6 months out and I have SEVERE pain at night, manageable pain during the day going thru my left rib cage and shoots down my arm. I have woken up my HB screaming at night.
I had complications during my surgery last fall and it was the gas build up around my diaphram and my doctor performed two more procedures to alleviate it. (He's in Mexico, Dr. Joya). This feels like that but it's more "shooting" at night and if I do a deep cough during the day it shoots HARD. The other day while driving to the airport for a biz trip, I had to cough deeply and although I almost saw white stars from the pain, I could feel a "bubble" moving through my back, it was almost like some kind of alien type experience. Then it disappeared for a few days, now it's back.
My insurance is bare bones so I don't want to go to the dr to find out it's just gas and I'm concerned they won't cover any procedure that's related to the surgery since I did it "elective" in Mex.
Also when I breath deep sometimes I hear a gurgling sound.
Any insight or advise is greatly appreciated.
I have no regrets for the surgery, I have lost 70 lbs so far. :)
xo,
Jody
If you are having severe pain, you should see a doctor right away.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
