At 21 days post op, I wouldn't do it.  You have 3 issues - the alcohol, the sugar, and the carbonation.  I'd play it safe if it were me.  You can pour the glass, you can raise your glass, but I wouldn't drink any of it.

My surgeon would say...are you kidding?  I was lectured about alcohol before he even signed on to do my surgery.  Very risky and is it really necessary??   No judgements just a askin ' sister?

I asked about decaf coffee the other day and my surgeons reply was "what do you think?" Now my ssurgeonis not super conservative either. I can't imagine what he would say if I asked about alcohol. I too am 3 weeks out and he would probably say do you just want to hop on the table and we can undo this now?

 

Alcohol can be very very dangerous after surgery. In it to win it right??
