So how did this happen? When MO, I was anemic all the time... Isnt this region of my intestine supposed to hanging out there, useless?

I honestly don't know.  It's my ferritin that's high and I don't recall it ever being tested before surgery so I don't have the comparison.  All I know is that it sits around 500 without supplementation.

Do you live in an area with a lot of iron in the water. For example, the dirt here is red, and my toilet bowl gets "orange" if I dont keep up wiht it.

Not that I'm aware of.  I live in western New York.

Just a question, going on my year in January I have have just had my ferritin checked and have not got results back. I go see my Surgeon next month. So when you say supplementing iron does that mean extra iron because I have my iron in my Multivitamin and even though I was told not to take iron 65 mg which is 325mg Ferrous Sulfate at night I do because i want to make sure I get enough iron.

The multivitamin I take from Bariatric Advantage does not contain iron so as far as I know I do not supplement iron in any way.

I have heard a lot of people say they need iron infusions that is why I keep taking mine. My nutritionist at Surgeons office said to stop taking extra iron just once a month with menstrual cycle. I just had labs done so i will wait for numbers. Thanks.
