10 lbs to go!
HI Gang!
Just 10 lbs to get to my self-imposed goal weight.
118 lbs lost.
I am excited, scared (that they wont go away), spazzed about it.
I should be there by new years...right?
Please god please!

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
No need for a time limit. Just keep working it and they will come! 7 more until I get where I though I could only dream of pre surgery. I'm now 125 down! I can see I may lose another 15 even. I can't imagine it sometimes but I know my body is still slowly losing and I'm 10 months out!
I totally hear you.
I was weird about food related dates/holidays when fat (because I was always on a diet).
Now I am weird about food related dates/holidays after surgery (i.e. portion control, dumping?).
I am going to a friends house. I am reminding myself that this is JUST one meal. I am not going to let ONE MEAL wreck 11 months of work.
Thanks for understanding!

You're doing fanTAStic!! Bear in mind though, these last 10 lbs go sooo much slower, so don't despair if you don't hit it by New Year's (but you might...and the effort's worth it anyway). I've been on pause so long at a major, major set point that it's hard to not tear my hair out but I know just keep on keeping on and it'll happen. Good luck on hitting that goal, 2015 is going to be so awesome!!
Thanks for letting me know.
I AM worried about getting stuck at a set point.
By the way, we had similar pre-surgery weights. How did you determine your final weight? My surgeon never gave me one. Basically 142 was the SMALLEST I have ever been so that is how/why I am shooting for it.

My surgeon and my PCP each said 125 was a good goal for me, due to my body-type (have very tiny arms, neck, legs) and family history (the goal is 10# more than my mom's weight -- and all my aunts were similar). That set-point was something I knew I'd have to battle as it's what I had always (ALWAYS) gotten down to then stopped when I lost weight before - lots of reasons for that but this time I know what's happening and am staying the course. Staying way more active and adding weight training will eventually help as well, but it's mostly keeping up with the program, measuring, staying accountable that will get me there. By the way, I love your new avatar picture!
I really had a hard time with a goal weight too. My surgeon didn't give me one just asked me what I thought it should be. Originally I said 160 because at 265 that seemed an impossible goal but when I blew past that I decided 145 because it put me at a normal bmi(the high end). My body though blew past that and I got down to about 118 and if I didn't eat all my snacks I would drop down lower. Now I run between 120 and 123 which is fairly near the low end of a normal bmi. My surgeon would like me a bit higher at the middle of the normal range but because my RA does better at a lower weight he says its fine.
