Gross I know but I had to huge BMs yesterday and then the runs started.  It has lasted all  night.  Can I take anything for it?  Should I be concerned?  I did leave a message with the surgeon but it will be hours before I hear from him as this time of day is surgery.

I am not drinking anything but Lactaid but did have a couple of Premier Protein drinks yesterday, light and fit greek yogurt lime with about a 1/4 of bite size shredded wheat, my usual fluid intake.  I have felt a little bloated the last week so wondering if I had some kind of blockage that maybe just broke loose.  I am usually mildly constipated but go at least every three days.

Any ideas or suggestions and oh I am 7 wks post op.

You need to stay hydrated.   Get you some Propel and start drinking that.   After RNY if you don't take in enough fluids you can dehydrate really easy.    You should be able to take some Immonion AD. or Pepto Bismo.   Hope you get to feeling much better quickly.    There is a stomach virus going around and that sounds like what you have.    If you had a blockage you would have been in severe pain.   I will keep you in my prayers.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

I have similar issues. I'm nine months post op and sometimes I seem to back up and have quite a bit of pain in my pouch area as well as significant clumping and nausea to the extent of vomiting foamies.  Once I eliminate I seem to get a little relief. I will be interested in seeing other comments. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Vivian and Kathie!  OK, I will not panic now.  No pain at all just a few mild cramps.  Doesn't feel like a bug but as you say so much is going around here in Texas.  My surgeon and PCP warned me since I am still healing, my immune system is fragile.  So hate to take another PTO day but afraid to go out, lol.

I just, this last few weeks have had this problem.  It got bad really fast, so don't let it go on too long.  My doc put me on flagyl for bacterial overgrowth and it took a few days for things to firm up.  Also started a probiotic to help restore the normal flora to my intestines.  In the meantime. I had to take lomatil to slow it down.  I did get dehydrated, so stay on top of your fluids!
