Hi Anny, I love reading this thread and I usually post on the Ontario Forum What are you eating.  You asked for suggestions so here goes.  Monday is the Canadian Thanksgiving.  Why not have a month long What Are You Thankful For After WLS?, leading up to the American Thanksgiving.   It could be as simple as I am thankful for Chike, to I am thankful I got my life back.

Today is my first day with the diet the dietician gave me. I only have to "prove myself" for the next two weeks, but I want my permanent change to start today.  My RNY won't be until Christmas break, and I want to lose before then.  My goal is 27 pounds because that is 10% for me.

B: plain nonfat Greek yogurt, 100 cal almonds, 2T sf Torani caramel syrup, banana

L: turkey and Swiss on sandwich thin, baby carrots, apple

S: 100 cal almonds, orange

D: salmon, sweet potato, broccoli w cheese

S: non-starchy veg soup (the old zero points soup from WW).

calories: 1402

protein: 82

w/v: half way there and yes

Good Luck with the diet Berry!  I only had to do a 2 wk liquid diet before surgery, so I can't comment on your diet (although I remember those 2 weeks as being the most horrible 2 wks ever).  However, here is the encouragement I can give you.  No matter how hard it seems before surgery, know that things get SO much easier after surgery!  That's not to say post op life is easy, it's just that the type of hunger you have post op is very different from pre op.  So basically, my words of encouragement are, keep your eye on the prize!  It really is worth it!  RnY is the BEST decision I've ever made, I dont' have a single regret.

Glad to have you join us Berry! All the work before surgery is so worth it to get to the  iytserlf. I was overweight my whole life, even as a child. When I had my surgery 25 months ago I weighed 265 pounds and wore a tight size 26 pants. I had knee and back pain every day, diabetes, high blood pressure, high triglycerides and high cholesterol. I had to stop to catch my breath after going down stairs to my basement. I lost 145 pounds and have been at this weight for over a year. The back and knee pain is gone. My blood sugar, blood pressure and all my cardiac labs are normal. I am able to walk 4 miles a day--and strangely love it! I am so thankful that I had RNY and got my life back! You will be too!
