Good Morning Everyone,
Well, I did my 2 hour workout last night and the scale. didn't. budge! My body just seems to be hanging on to weight lately (my food choices were good yesterday too, 840 cals, 40 carbs, 85 protein). I'm frustrated b/c this is where my Dr. said I'd end up (I'm 222, size 12) and 7.5 months out. I really want to lose 60 more lbs. I think I'm going to stop weighing myself for awhile, which is scary for me. I really like the accountability of the scale each day, but I also am driving myself NUTS! So I think I'm only going to weight 1x a week. Any vets have any experience with something like this? Is my body just going through some sort of adjustment? It just seems like losing weight the last 2 months hasn't only been hard, it's been harder than it was pre surgery. To be fair, I still have lost, but it's just been at a very slow rate. Thoughts?
Time since surgery: 7.5 months
B - Light and Fit & string cheese
L - Premier Protein
D - Chicken broccoli slaw mix
V/W - On track
E - I think I'll take the night off
Have a great day everyone,
I agree with everything Karen said! I highly doubt you are done losing, and dont really believe when a doctor says that we will stop at a certain weight. Mine always told me that its up to me and my body. I did notice however, that once I got around the year marker my pattern of weight loss changed. I went from constant daily losses to big losses once every two weeks or so. It still works that way for me now. I have a pretty significant loss, then stabilize for two weeks, then another good loss. Dont get preoccupied with weighing daily. Just know that if you're doing the right things ie: eating the right foods (and eating enough!), and exercising, the weight will continue to come off :)
I agree Dodgergirl that a break from the scale might be a good idea. When I was in the losing stages I weighed one time a week per my surgeons advice. It was much less frustrating. If you are only 7 months out there is no way you are done losing for good! Most likely your body is just taking a break and catching up. I found that often when the scale was stubborn I was changing clothing sizes. Didn't make sense but that's what I found. Hang in there girl and just keep following your plan and when your body is ready the weight will start to drop again. I know its hard--but just keep keeping on! You have got this!!
Thanks Karen! Always good to hear from a Vet. I think my scale is driving me to the brink of insanity, so yes it's time to put it away :)
Hi All!
I just figured out I can copy and paste from MFP! Hopefully this comes out okay. Went away this weekend with my Mom to Newport, it was AWESOME. Bought way too much jewelry, because that is the only thing I know will fit for awhile. But I'll take that problem any day. Also met with my NUT yesterday and I'm trying to expand my food a bit, hence the chicken salad wrap which went down good for dinner last night. Not sure if I'll get much in the way of exercise today, but I'm going to the gym tomorrow morning before work.

Good morning all, hello from *****oteague! It is raining like crazy here, but that's ok - I don't really come to the beach to go to the beach LOL. Luckily the house we've rented is big enough we can spread out and there are comfy spots to relax all over. There's also a big porch so even in the rain you can sit outside in these nice big rockers and listen to the water and rain, even though it does make me have to pee like 5 minutes.
I've been knitting, reading, playing with the nieces, cooking (mostly for the others). My sister and I went to see The 100 Foot Journey yesterday afternoon. What a fantastic story - a bit food porn-ish, but in a good way really.
This morning I used my YMCA privileges to visit the Y here for a work out. Talk about a life style change! The thought of working out ANYTIME last year would have been almost laughable, but working out on VACATION - OMG! Anyway, it was a tiny little slapped together place, but they were super nice and I got in 45 minutes on the elliptical, so I'm feeling good.
Time since surgery: 5 months, 3 weeks
B: Loaded Greek Yogurt, banana greek yogurt mini muffin, and 1 slice of really crispy and delicious baked in the oven bacon
S: CHIKE and coffee, maybe a string cheese if I need it
L: Quest bar I think, I thought I would do lunchmeat for lunches this week but the deli has left something to be desired honestly and the lunchmeat just doesn't sound appealing
S: Fiber Gourmet with a French Onion Laughing Cow Light wedge while the others are having chips and french onion dip
D: Taco Tuesday - I'll have meat, a little refried beans, a sparkle of cheese, and a dollop of greek yogurt
S: Cool Whip FroYo with a graham cracker for a little faux pie-like action
