Wedding planning hell-potatoes are everywhere!
Depending on the veggies involved, *I* definitely would consider it a punishment, LOL. You already know how I feel about even remotely "exotic" veggies, though.
I am (mostly) a simple creature when it comes to food. Fresh steamed green beans or broccoli make me very happy, especially if I can have just a smidgen of butter on the broccoli. Corn, beets, peas, and cauliflower are all good, and I even truly like salted Lima beans.
You would have to pay me to eat eggplant, artichokes, turnips, asaparagus, or any type of squash, though (except up pick pie filling!).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I too thought I'd 'eat a plate' at my wedding - never happened. I mean maybe a few bites, but I was too busy to eat. We both were - mostly busy with our guests and family. Busy kissing during dinner with everyone banging their forks on their glasses. So forgive me if I'm giggling at your post. In the end, the wedding is YOURS. Yes, all those people are coming, spending gobs of money to celebrate you - but - I've never gone to a wedding FOR the food. Not even a very expensive wedding. Negotiate if you must ... a variety if possible would be nice (and folks do remember the food) ...but please don't stress. You'll find that part of the day to be just about the least important for YOU. Congratulations to the happy couple - have a wonderful wedding day!
Oh that's a good point. My brother/SIL barely ate. They were always being pulled away by the photographer!

I would ask them to have a special plate made for you .Everyone else can eat potatoes.it can be expensive changing things around. You are having a cake to right? Also most people at their weddings do not eat much. They are too busy running around and talking to people..
HI! My sweet groom has diabetes so our wedding cake tier is sugar free! We had to search the whole state to find the baker/decorator!
Also, I get terrible dumping (vomitting) from cake. I have tried it and cookies and too much sugar does my pouch in!
