What's on your plate RNYers? (Monday)

Did everybody have a good weekend? Mine was boring but OK I guess. I just got back from Goodwill, where I went to get some shorts. I wore long pants all summer last year because I felt self conscious about the saggy skin on my thighs. This summer I have been looking at others wearing shorts and Capri's and realized that my legs look better than most of them. So I am getting braver and less self conscious. Goodwill was having a half price sale so I got 3 pairs of shorts,2 cute tops and a new (with the original tag)dress for a bit over 12 dollars! It must be my lucky day! I have already walked 3 miles this morning and done level 2 of 39 day shred. Later I will do 200 crunches. On track with vitamins and fluids too. Here's the eats: B 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and 1/2 banana with peanut butter L 31/2 oz lean pork chop with 1/2 c pea pods and mushrooms S apple with peanut butter D 1/2 c sloppy Joe meat with1/2 c mixed veggies S 3/4 c Greek yogurt with nuts. Have a good day everyone!

Karen! Good for you for embracing shorts! And great idea getting them at Goodwill. A friend of mine is an avid Goodwill shopper and she just gave me the scoop on the "best" Goodwills in our area, so I'm hoping to make a tour soon.

I had a REALLY frustrating morning. I had my 3-month follow up at my surgeon's office and it was INFURIATING. They had told me at my 1-month follow up that I would get more extensive bloodwork at this appointment, so with that in mind, I fasted. Well, my appointment was for 9:45, the nurse finally called me back at 10:45, then at 11:20 the PA came in to see me for approximately 4 minutes - told me nope, no bloodwork, pressed on my belly and was out of there. So by that point I was hangry and wanted to scream. Also the nutritionist was on vacation, so I didn't get to see her - I didn't really have any questions per say, but it was annoying that she wasn't there to check in. Oh aaaaand I had to wait another 20 minutes to check out.

(I loved my Clinic pre-surgery, they were fantastic - attentive, caring, on time - but the same week I had surgery they moved into a new office and are now sharing with the Plastic Surgery practice at the hospital and it has done something to their efficiency, now every visit is an ordeal!)

According to their scale I'm actually down 83.5 pounds, though I'm only counting 80.5, since that's what my scale, which I use every day, says.

Excuse the rant, it has just been one of "those" days.

D: roasted chickpeas and a Babybel (this is not the best thing, but I'll be at the second part of my ESL tutor training, so I needed something easy that I didn't have to keep cold and I can't stand to do more than 1 protein bar a day)

S: another coffee I'm guessing, Nectar protein shake, SF popsicle

TOTALS: Calories 849, Protein 108, Carbs 57 (a little high), Fat 28

I 'm sorry you've had a hectic morning. I'm not as impressed by my surgeons office as much post op as I was pre op. They seem to be more focused on getting people to surgery than post op guidance. They do have a good support group led by the dietitian who is very knowledgeable so that is good at least. Hopefully your day will calm down a bit now!

Hi everyone! Thanks for starting the post, Karen! I will keep mine short and sweet since I'm on my phone. I will write more about my trip when I am home Thursday or Friday! Anyway I did ok today on eats considering I was in Paris and London today and went to a show!

b: my very first quest bar! It was good. Chocolate and peanut butter

s: one serving of skinny pop popcorn - black pepper flavored. It's crack to me so I won't buy it again

l: in a square in Montmarte, I had half an avocado and maybe 2 Oz of shrimp salad

d: back in London, Thai food. Chicken in green curry and some onions off of another chicken dish.

Then I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was amazing!!! Went to a pub after and as usual, drank water. Sigh...I do miss alcohol!

Ive missed all of you all on the thread and will be back contributing later this week :)

Anny - my doc doesn't do any labs until one year post op. Weird huh?

Waiting the full year at the beginning does sound a little crazy to me! I suppose if you were experiencing problems like fatigue they might send you earlier - so interesting how different every program is.
