What's on the menu today, RNYers? Wed
OMG Dodgergirl, a girlfriend of mine just had the same rant! I am so sorry! I think they are growing so quickly that they must be struggling to keep up with deliveries. I hope it gets better...and I think if you complain they will give you free time perhaps...
Awesome idea on the greek yogurt ranch dip. I am gonna have to try that! I love those English cukes that have very few seeds. YUM.
I'm right there with you DG! I'm super excited about GB and have loved most of what I've received, but I'm definitely not so happy with the wait time between shipping!

It really is my fault, but I purposely don't shop so I don't have to buy anything that is too big a month/two months later. I thought GB was the perfect answer, but with these lead times, they are killing me! Hopefully they up their staff and things get better...or better yet, hopefully I "shrink" out of the size range :) I dream of a day where I can't imagine fitting into a 10...haha, that's so beyond my real of comprehension right now, though. Plus, I really do enjoy the service when it's working as advertised.
Hi all... I'm new here and today is my first day of pureed foods since surgery last week! My doctors goal is for me to hand 3 meals a day, no snacks and get around 800-1000 calories and at least 60-70 protein. It all seems a bit over whelming to me right now but here goes...
B: 1/2 scrambled egg, supplemented with vanilla protein shake
L: pintos and cheese with scoop of protein powder
D: mashed potatoes with protein powder, more protein shake if needed
So far I'm at 430 cal / 51 protein
32 oz in / vitamins on track
Hi Mimi,
Welcome! This post should be helpful to you in getting ideas and inspiration for meal ideas! My doctor also has a target for 3 meals a day, no snacks, and 60+ g of protein. You will see a lot of plans call for snacks. That early on, 400 calories a day is fine, in my opinion. I was at 400 for a few weeks, then 500, then 600...now between 800-1000 at six months out. I usually incorporate one shake per day to boost protein.
Are you a vegetarian? Or just on soft foods? I ask because I have not had mashed potatoes yet (starchy carb) and when I moved to soft foods I was eating chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad...dense foods with protein. Obviously if you are vegetarian those might not be good options! Also, I should add the caveat that all plans are different and perhaps your plan calls for mashed potatoes whereas it's pretty much banned from mine lol.
Good luck, glad you are on track with vitamins and fluids and protein! Welcome to the losers bench! There will be mood swings but keep in mind that it is temporary! And so many good things to come!!!
Thanks... the potatoes are allowed (add protein powder to them) but I do have tuna in the cupboard! Hadn't thought of that but it sounds good now!
I'm not a vegetarian but try to stick with mostly fish and chicken. I'm hoping to get lots of ideas from this post.
Welcome, Mimi! Good to have you posting here. I have to say, I think your doctor's goal may be a bit unrealistic at only one week out, and even for a while afterward. I think 800-1000 calories and at least 60-70 protein on three meals and no snacks will be hard to do for a while. Keep working at it, though, it keeps getting better!
