Monday is my big day

Hi everyone,

wow. I have not been on the forums for some time.

had a lap band in 2007.  5 surgeries later all related to the band and i am finally taking a new direction.

The band will be removed and a RNY will be done on Monday morning at 7:30 .sigh.

  I am extremely nervous.

Realized today, I am in "mourning".  No idea why. Not my first rodeo, so to say.  I KNOW the foods I live are not TRUELY gone from my menu forever but my mind is freaking out. Haha.

Went shopping to make sure my children are set and I am set for the week ahead. I look at crap I don't even eat and think " I will never get it again".

  Pure mind games, I know.

I am excited to get the band out and actually get to be active again! My last few issues have been that the port had torn loose and with ANY activity it seemed like that thing just was chewing away at the tissue inside. Usually taking 3-5 days to recover.

Well, hope to find this a place of great support.  Although I am not new to weight loss surgery, I am new to RNY

take care

Jeanee - Congrats on the big day! I know you are a ball of nerves by now - try to relax, before you know it, you will be on the healing side for good.  Once you have the band out & the revision done it will the last weight loss surgery you will need.  Give yourself some healing time & before you know it you will be playing with those beautiful twins of yours.

I was happy to be rid of my band!

Best of luck to you on Monday!  See you on the healing side!

Congratulations! It will be here soon. Remember to pack a picture of your family and a pillow for the ride home to hold over your stomach. Ask for gas x strips or milicon drops when you awaken and go for your first walk so you can work on breaking up the gas in your stomach. Remember to walk and drink as much as possible to build up your strength. Start your protein shakes and vitamins as soon as possible too. Good luck. I will be praying for you.

“Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”― Marc Hack
