In Praise of Being Strong
There's a gal in our support group that admits she had WLS for the same reason you did--by chance are you a bailiff, too? ha. You are a superhero because I am certain your stories have motivated many of us to move more. (tiny bit of friendly advice a trainer may not agree with but--please take caution lifting weight that puts significant strain on the abdominal area--hernias are no fun.)
Hee. Nope, not a bailiff. :-)
I'll take care about lifting. We've been doing a fair bit of core work since the very beginning--planks, crunches, medicine ball slams, etc.--so it's not like I had no prep leading up to the deadlifting. Admittedly, though, that weight on Friday was a lot higher than either of us had expected!

Awesome post this morning. You must feel like Wonder Woman. You should order a t-shirt with her on it or another super hero that you like.It is amazing when you get stronger.I am very stubborn sometimes and I am like a person who is like I can do this myself.I can carry double the firewood in the house than I could months ago.Being stronger is such a plus.Congratulations.Thanks for sharing.
I'm so glad you posted this! I'm about halfway to my goal weight and have been training to run a 5k with my daughter when I visit the states in April. My 56th birthday is in a couple of weeks and I've been pondering giving myself some time with a personal trainer to boost the progress I'm making with my running.
I can hardly even believe that, at this point in my life, I am even using words like 5k, running, personal trainer!
Anyway, thanks to your post I've made my decision and I WILL be going to the gym on Monday to book some time with a trainer. Happy birthday to me!
