abortion
It shouldn't. An abortion has nothing to do with your stomach or small intestine. But make sure you let the doctor know you can't take NSAIDS due to your RNY.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
After your abortion please make sure you are following your surgeons guidelines about pregnancy prevention.
For what it's worth, keeping your pregnancy isn't impossible. Abortion scars for life so make sure you get all the support and advice you can before making such a huge decision.
Good luck.
I find it somewhat offensive that you seem to be assuming that 1) the OP wasn't following her surgeon's guidelines about pregnancy prevention and 2) that the OP hasn't already gotten support and advice and thought carefully about her decision.

Not to mention claiming that everyone who opts for abortion will be scarred for life!
I know a number of women who were in very difficult situations and opted to have abortions and never regretted it let alone became scarred by it. Sure, some women might suffer emotionally following an abortion, but a blanket statement like that is nonsense. (didn't mean to start preaching to the choir...!)

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Katie - I also find it offensive that you say "abortion scars for life". If you are speaking from personal experience maybe it has scarred you for life but don't make blanket assumptions that your experience or anyone else's is the same for ALL women - it is not! I've personally worked with hundreds of women who it has NOT scarred for life and who are very thankful they live in a country where they can make a choice about their own reproduction.
