update
So I had surgery Monday the 13th. its been hard for me since day 1. After surgery i was put on oxygen i couldn't do it myself. I ended up staying on oxygen fir 3 days. My blood sugar was high even though I could barley getting anything in. i didn't sleep much. and when i finally got home i get a huge bruised on my left side of my abdomen. i tried drinking drink a premier protein drink . Nope I through up i am still having problems getting enough fluid in, i see the surgeon the 23 maybe he will give me medication for nauseous. I'm just upset how little I COULD GET LIQUID DOWN.
Itty bitty sips. Try different shakes to find one you like. Just because it worked and tasted good before surgery doesn't mean it will now. Change up your water temps. Make a warm tea or chicken broth. Try room temp. Try ice water. See what works. Each person is different.
I'm 9 weeks out on Monday and I still struggle to get my fluids in. Even reaching half the requirements was hard those first few weeks.
Don't wait until Dr. appts. to call and let them know of your miseries... the nausea is an EASY fix..,. As for the rest of it... all I can say is it will get better. I had strictures and basically did the liquid diet for 8 weeks... nothing fun about it, but now that I am 11 months out, I have no regrets and would be able to cope with the notion of 2x as many complications for 2x as long given where I am today.
Hang in there... but don't be a hero - CALL YOUR DR!
Today is the 18th. I would not wait until the 23rd to ask for something for nausea if you're so nauseous you can't get much fluid in. Why not call today and ask them to phone in a script for you?
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.

I would call and get an anti-nausea med script sent to your pharmacy TODAY.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Don't wait sweetie, give them a call and let them know what's going on. I hope you are feeling better soon. Hang in there!
