Can one dump on sugar free chocolate?

I have always made almond clusters or walnut clusters to give away to friends and family. This year I made some but since I can't really eat that (I'm a dumper) I gave it all away.

Instead i made SF ones, with dark chocolate. I ate one once they were done. Now, I've eaten almonds before with no problems and I've had sugar free candies before too.

I FEEL HORRIBLE! Just like dumping! I'm all clamy, I feel like I'm gonna hurl, I'm all shaky, I just wanna lay here til it passes and I my stomach hurts something fierce!

Could one really dump from sf chocolate? Has anyone else had this happen?!

I can feel that way from sugar alcohols. Anything like that in there?

I don't know. I bought it in the bulk section at the supermarket. All I saw was Sugar Free. Didn't think about anything else. I was in the SF section of the store. Seems silly now that I didn't bother to look.

I have bought SF candy before and eaten a piece and been fine. I wonder if it was too much? Idk.

I'd look for sugar alcohols they often put that in to replace the sugar in SF products. It makes me ill. You may have been able to eat other sf products because they may not of had them in, or they had less in or you just ate less of it. I'd look at the ingredients to see if you can figure out what it was so you don't eat it again.

The ladies in my support group (several of them) said NO SF! The substitutes they put in to mask the lack of sugar give them all severe dumping/diarrhea. Maybe you were fine with what was in the other sf stuff, but the chocolate sounds like a no no for you

yes you can dump on sugar free. The substitute and butter or shortening can cause problems. Also the richness of the chocolate. Sometimes I dump and other times I'm OK.

Sugar alcohols may make you sick (they bother lots of people and they actually bother me more than sugar does), but it isn't actually dumping.  Not every digestive upset is dumping.

It's not dumping it's sugar alcohols. Surgery or not, too many sugar alcohols will cause diarrhea.
