stopped losing
There is no magic formula in protein. Protein can help you stay full longer, which can then keep you from eating sooner. Protein is of course necessary, and you should be getting the recommended amount every day.
Weight loss is not linear. If you think you are off track, weigh your food and log everything you eat on a site like MyFitnessPal. If your calories and macros are where they are supposed to be, keep working your plan and be patient. Exercise a little more if you can, but weight loss is mostly about the food.
Be patient. If you are doing what you are supposed to do, you will start losing again. There is no magic or secret.

There are many, many reasons that your weight may not be moving right now: too many calories, too few calories, too many carbs, two little protein, too little water, too little exercise.
Around six-months out, many people find that their weight-loss slows down. It's a combination of the fact that you're losing your caloric malabsorption so you're absorbing more calories than you were before, and the fact that because you have already lost a tremendous amount of weight, it takes fewer calories to run your body and therefore your daily caloric deficit is lower (which means it takes longer to lose a single pound).
Without some detail on what a typical day looks like for you as far as food intake and exercise, if any, we cannot offer any specific suggestions about what you may be doing wrong.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I can totally understand how you feel! I am 8 months out and playing up and down with 3 pounds for the past 2 months. Tracking on Fitness Pal, joined a gym, drink plenty of water, 800-1,000 cals a day(the higher cals on gym days). Hoping this isn't what I have to do to just maintain. Never eat anything off plan and that's not always easy! Wish I could help but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone! Good luck and stay focused, let us know when it breaks!
