confused

My RNY is for 2/1/14.  I have lost 34 lbs while preparing for the surgery. I was on Metformin Glipizide and 80 units insulin.  I no longer need the glipizide and my insulin needs are currently at 25 units and still taking Metformin.  I have been instructed to take all meds as usual prior to arriving at the hospital.  During this weight loss period I was instructed to check my levels morning and evening and to add or subtract 2 units if I go below 90 or above 130.  I'm sure your doctor will have specific thoughts about this.  Good luck to you!!!

thanks, yeah, I no longer take insulin...my doctor did say to take it on the clear fluid days...got a message from him today.  I am glad to hear about the 34 lb weight loss that is great! I will look forward to hearing about your journey too!   We deserve this!
