I just found out I need surgery next Thursday and will need to be non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. I am concerned because I will not be able to exercise in my normal way ( bike, Zumba) for a while. I do not want to gain weight and want to remain healthy. I will continue to eat healthy as I have done the pasts seven months.
Has anyone ever tried chair exercises? If so do you have a web site or any suggestions? I know it won't be the same but I think I can get a good workout. I am going to rent a knee scooter and wheelchair . I will also have crutches , I have to keep working except for the first couple of weeks. Thanks for listening to me ramble and vent, still in shock, lol.

I love pinterest. So I went on there and just searched for seated workouts. http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=seated%20workout&rs= ac&len=11

I would ask for a referral to a Physical Therapist to get you started. Doing them correctly with the right form is key and making sure they are not going to cause you any harm for your other surgery will be important.

Achilles surgery by chance?

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
