I'm afraid I am not a dumper
NO I have not eaten a cookie, or drank soda or eaten icecream...but I have thought about it. Im sure many have but when I have had something I thought was kinda pushing the boundary of what may be considered high sugar count for a RNYer nothing happened. NO sweats, cramps, running to the bathroom. So I must not ever try these sweet indulgences because I just may get hooked because I have no physical negative reaction.
Well, about 70% of RNY folks aren't dumpers. But if you haven't eaten anything with a large amount of sugar, then you don't really know if you are or not. Many people that do dump can eat a cookie, as long as it's not a giant cookie. I can eat a couple of Oreos. But I have dumped a few times on larger amounts of sugar.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.

You are just barely 2 months out. What on earth are you already eating that has a high sugar count?
I don't understand people who jump through hoops to have this surgery and then don't stick to the plan. :(

Because sometimes the mind is stronger then the willpower.. Some people have food addictions, and they are very hard to overcome.
I agree.... that's why I'm a BIG advocate for people seeking counseling BEFORE surgery to deal with it... and not just seeing a shrink a couple of times to satisfy requirements for a psych eval. The mind is a tough thing sometimes!

what I consider to be marginally high in sugar may be like a bottled ice tea. When water is just not satisfying me and i just want some flavor in my drink I will have an ice tea on a full glass of ice and mix it with water. So I feel like im cheating a little because there is sugar but I am diluting it and usually taking days to drink it all.

Then get unsweetened tea. I drink a 32 oz one of those every day.

Heaven is where you'll be when you're okay right where you are. (Borrowed from a friend)
don't sweat it, there's always one in every group! you're fine.
as for dumping, i can say that i both do and do not dump. how it works for me is if i eat something high in sugar or carbs by itself, i will dump. if i eat something high in sugar or carbs after a normal meal or with protein, i won't dump. so it's more than just will you or won't you. of course i wish i had never tested the waters to find that out, but i have. no one's perfect.
