OK so here is my story. I weighed 272 lbs last week. A few days ago I weighed myself the scale said I weighed 286 lbs. I was confused I haven't eaten bad and I was walking every day. This week my feet swelled up like balloons. I was worried so I went to the walk in clinic because it takes a week to get in with my PCP. So I go and see the Dr and he said there was 3 reasons why people get edema. 1) Heart 2) kidneys 3) medication. I'm a diabetic and one common complication diabetics get is problems with their kidneys. So I'm freaking out inside. The Dr did a EKG in office and he did blood work and urine labs. The EKG comes back normal. I'm freaking out I have been on my medications for a year so I'm thinking yah it is my kidneys. He put me on vitamin B-6 to help get rid of some of the edema and sent me home, he said he will call me tomorrow morning which is today. He gave me good news it's not my kidneys it's one of my medications I take for side effects from one of my psychiatric medications. So the Dr told me to call my Psychiatric Dr. and he gave me medication for the edema in my feet and ankles. Hopefully me wieght goes back down.
