"heartless self"... LOL

I have to admit that the problem caused by people picking their noses would NEVER have occurred to me!  I did have a client once (an adult) who occasionally just very casually picked his nose during sessions. It was very odd.  He would take a tissue and wipe his finger on the tissue when he was done, so I was thankful for small favors, but it raised all sorts of questions in my inquisitive little brain!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

My son has hypogammaglobulin anemia. We use the bactroban (mupirocin) cream daily in the nose. It took a good while to get used to that feeling so good luck to you with that. During flu season or entire family has to use it to try and protect him. Helps us too though in the process. For him it is a preventative. Just helps block and kill any infection before it can get into the body. So look at that positive. It will also help you keep from getting other infections also! Gotta look at the upside.

my friend had back surgery this week and had to get up at 4am on the morning of the surgery to take the protocol of antibacterial showers. it must be SOP for prevention.

I ask to be tested prior to any surgical procedure. I tested positive before I had my band done 5 years ago....I did the ointment to the nostrils and the shower with the special soap.  By the way, don't use the soap on your face or head.  I have been tested 4 times since my positive result and all have been negative. The way our hospital does it is, once you are positive you are always considered positive regardless of the lab tests. MRSA can go dormant and can come awake at anytime. MRSA is everywhere. The bugs that are really bad now are MDRO and cdiff.  Good luck with your knee replacement.
