My eyes are playing tricks on me

I have gone from a size 20 to a size 16 in two months. My old pants come off without opening them and I swim in my shirts but I still see the old me in the mirror. My daughter and mom both recently told me your not plus size anymore! Your in the wrong clothing section! I still say I cant fit that and I will try it on to prove to you I cant and then I CAN fit it. Wow

Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Comparing before and after full length photographs in a similar pose is the best way to grasp the change. Congrats on all your hard work!

I'm over a year out and now wearing a size 0 or little girls 14 in pants a woman's M or L in tops due to belly skin, and i STILL go to the plus size section at times. I hope your eyes catch up quicker than mine. I am taken aback when I am people say "you skinny girls!" or "your skinny minny self" I look around wondering who the heck they are talking to! Enjoy it!

Congrats to you!!! I still am surprised when I see my size 14 pants. I think I can't fit into them cos they seem too small. And then I put them on and they fit. Our brains will eventually catch up.

It happens to a LOT of us!

i am six years out, went from a size 28 or 30 jeans to size 10 jeans, and just in the past year have I stopped looking at my jeans when they are fresh from the dryer and thinking "those cannot possibly be mine!"

Eventually your brain will catch up.  Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better, though.  It is so much better being smaller than your brain thinks than to be larger than your brain thinks (which a lot of us experienced before surgery).

Congrats! I took my husband with me to buy clothes at first because I kept going to the woman's section. My mind didn't see the new me. Now I have no problem heading for the size 4. It still feels weird that I am that skinny girl in the mirror. But it is awesome to have so many choices.
