Funny NSV
First off, I bought size 6 (really, British size 10, which translates to American size 6) workout clothes yesterday because the sweats I've been wearing for months were literally falling off me.
But that's not the main NSV.
Yesterday morning, I was in my office pow-wowing with our budget guy, when I saw a member of the Student Development team outside my door. I've worked with this person for two and a half years, we've been in many trainings together and are very cordial. But I don't see her on a regular basis because her work is student focused and I tend to deal more with employees. The conversation went like this:
Me: Hey, hon. It's going to be awhile. (Before I'd be available to speak with her.)
Her: (Puzzled) No. I mean...(she checks the name on the office door) I'm looking for Karen.
Me: (Convinced she's messing with me) Yeah, right.
Her: No, really. Where is she?
Me: Here, you goof.
Her: No. I...who are you?
Me: I'm me, you big dork. (I tend to use insults as a way of showing affection...in writing this out, I'm realizing I may need to rethink that strategy.)
Her: (Shocked) Oh, my God! The voice... I didn't...! Karen, IS THAT YOU!?
Me: Yes. That's what I was trying to tell you!
Her: Oh, my God! What did you DO?!
Me: I've lost weight, exercised and colored my hair.
Her: Oh, my God. OH, MY GOD! I need to hug you to make sure this is real.
Needless to say, our Budget Manager (who works in the same office suite as me and sees me everyday) just sat there, watching us, bemused. There was much hugging and further exclaiming. It made me feel good, particularly as I haven't lost any weight this week. I've had similar reactions in the past, but nothing quite this extreme. :-)

I LOVE THIS!
And with someone I work with in a very friendly way, I could see calling them a goof in such a situation, lol.
YAY!!!
