Today I bought my first pair of running shoes that FIT. As nervous as I was to go into a running shop and run on a treadmill in front of a stranger that looks like a fitness model I am so glad I did. She was SO sweet and encouraging, I learned so many new things like I have a high arch and instep. She had to order the shoes for me since they are a wide width they carry limited stock but had one a half size to big for me to try out.
Also today was my first personal training season since surgery and I jogged my mile in just over 13 mins!!!!!! I also did 52 crunches in a min ( I could never do crunches with my band because it HURT too much).
I am feeling so good today its crazy, I am so glad I made this choice and that I have been so lucky with my support. Eric the BF is going to get fitted for running shoes with my girl tomorrow :)
Wow! All of those are awesome things! I'm really impressed.

Thank you so much. I have a coworker who is a marathon runner and she is so encouraging, supportive, and inspiring to me. She is the only person at work that knows exactly what I did and have to say a lot of what I have accomplished is because her lifestyle inspires me to be a healthy human being above and beyond anything else I do along this journey.

You will be SO glad you were professionally fitted for shoes! I hated running before and I think I'd still hate it if I just went with shoes that felt okay for a minute in the store. That doesn't work for 45 minutes on the road!
As you lose, be sure you go back and get fitted again. My gait seriously changed as I lost weight. The shoes I bought in Feb and the shoes I bought in July were similar, but even the really awesome lady who did my fitting at my local shop was surprised how much my gait was different until I told her I'd lost 50 lbs in that time. Then she told me to never wait that long, every 35 I go in and get assessed now.
