6 weeks out nutritionist recommended upping my calories to 1000-1200?
I had my 6 week follow up today and met with the Doctor and the nutritionist. The nutritionist wanted me to increase my calorie range from 1000-1200 because of my activity level and the Doctor said separately to increase to 900-1100 because of activity. My problem is I am still on soft foods until 3 months and don't like milk in my shakes or really even dressed up shakes. I like the nectar fuzzy navel with water so my 2 shakes are only 200 calories so I am supposed to get in 700 more from 3 additional meals. I am eating 1/4-12 cup depending on density of food.
Any ideas
Also does that increase seem TO high?
I'm sure it would be ok if you gradually ramped up your food intake; you don't have to do it all in one fell swoop!
Try refried beans w/salsa, shrimp, tuna salad, etc. If you're exercising a lot, remember you need to replace the calories you use so that your internal organs aren't effected. When you don't eat enough, the body will scavenge protein from muscles, and the heart is a muscle.
And don't forget about chewing!!

CW 190!!! GW Anything under 200 was the icing on the cake...going for 170...lil more icing never hurt anybody!
I agree that seems like a lot, particularly as you're still on soft foods. I'm not quite at the six month stage and I'm eating 900-1000 calories a day. How are you with dairy? Maybe start adding more cheese or full fat yogurt to your diet. Those tend to be a little higher in calories and may help you hit your goal. Best of luck to you!
