oatmeal protein bar recipe?

I'm trying to make my own protein bars since I'm hating the ones I bought (and my shakes). I'm NOT a baker, so I have no idea what I'm doing, but here's what I was thinking: oatmeal, banana, protein powder (unflavored), egg...

Do you have any tried and true recipes? I think I'd like to add a little more fruit (maybe raisins?) next time. I also want to stay away from flour of any kind at the moment.

PROTEIN BALLS:  1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1/2 scoop whey protein isolate powder (any flavor), 1/2 cup oatmeal, 3 packets Splenda.    In glass bowl, warm the peanut butter in the microwave only a few seconds to soften.  Add remaining ingredients.  Roll into balls, chill, wrap individually, store in frig.  Makes about a dozen balls.  NOTES:  I use fresh ground peanut butter from the coop or refrigerated peanut butter from the grocery store.  My favorite flavor protein powder for these is Unjury brand chocolate.  Quick oatmeal versus old-fashioned oatmeal helps the balls stick together better.  I have never tried adding raisins.

These aren't cooked then? They sound yummy!

No cooking other than softening the peanut butter in the microwave (under 15 seconds) first.

Not a bar but a yummy easy to take protein muffin. These freeze good and are easy to grab on my way out the door.

I've made these with chopped walnuts and with sugar free chocolate chips. I double the recipe and freeze them.

If you are looking for some protein bar recipes go to http://www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com. But from the sounds of your recipe, its a good start. Let me know how they turn out.

They're not terrible. They're a little rubbery - maybe no egg next time. Also, I think I would have liked them sweeter.

Eggface uses a lot of that protein/whole grain pancake mix which isn't technically on my approved list at the moment, but I do love her recipes. I always want to eat everything I see on her site!
