are NSAIDs allowed
Yes, Toradol is an NSAID. Taking it by IV poses the same risks as taking it orally.

It is "allowed" in any form if you NEED it and cannot be otherwise treated, but it still poses the risk of ulcers. Toradol, which is a heavyweight NSAID posts a particular risk of ulcers. I still don't understand why some people are given Toradol in the hospital after surgery unless the people prescribing it are thinking of it only as a powerful pain killer and NOT REMEMBERING that it is also an NSAID. (I had an argument with an ER nurse who was "certain" that it wasn't and NSAID!)
The problem with NSAIDs is systemic, not related to pills in your pouch, so it doesn't matter what form it is in (although there are some studies that show that topical creams are not absorbed as much and may be safer).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Of course, ,if they're not absorbed as much, the probably won't provide as much relief, either.

Yes, I used the max dose for about 3 days and didn't notice any difference at all. Just too much damage to the knees I guess (but both Celebrex and Aleve used to help, so it wasn't as if they were beyond help of NSAIDs at all). I had one knee replaced in March and am having the second one done in 4 weeks.

I've had really good luck with Cymbalta, allowing me to postpone surgery on my arthritic shoulders for nearly 2 years. But their time is up now. Left shoulder being replaced at the end of the month and right one, next year. I already have a hip implant, so at this rate I should be fully bionic and wearing a cape in another 5 years!
Good luck on your knee surgeries and recoveries!
